NONWANDERING SET OF SMALE-VIETORIS DIFFEOMORPHISMS

We introduce and study a class of diffeomorphisms with invariant solenoidal sets which includes the classical Smale example of a solenoidal expanding attractor. We describe the nonwandering set and possible base sets for such diffeomorphisms. Bibliography: 20 titles. Illustrations: 1 figure.
