摘要

The discussed paper presents experimental research on the tensile behavior of concrete. In particular, the effect of different strain rates in two types of testing methods-direct tension and four-point loading-is analyzed. The authors should be congratulated for producing a detailed paper with interesting information. The discusser acknowledges this fact and would like to offer the following comments and questions for the authors' consideration and response, primarily regarding the dynamic increase factor (DIF) and highly stressed volume (HSV).
