Short Communication NACIS Conference Highlights 2019

The North American Cartographic Information Society (NACIS) hosts an annual meeting, which this year took place in Tacoma, Washington, from October l6th to 19th, 2019. The main purpose of the conference is to facilitate knowledge sharing and build stronger connections between cartographic professionals. This was the largest conference to date, with over 400 attendees coming from varying backgrounds, including government organizations, nonprofits, commercial groups, and academia. The two days of conference presentations were preceded and followed by optional workshops such as Practical Cartography Day (PCD). PCD is an additional day at every NACIS conference where invited presenters give short talks about the tools and practical techniques they use in their daily work or recent projects. This editorial will review the NACIS 2019 meeting from the perspective of a new Map & Geospatial Data Librarian.
