A Research Note on the Relationships among Spirituality, Contextual Variables, and Perceptions of Ethics in the Workplace

摘要

This paper examines the relationship of perceptions of ethics in the workplace to contextual/situational variables and to personal characteristics associated with individuals. Results from the analysis of data collected in a sample of 161 employees indicate that perceptions of ethical behaviors in the workplace are positively related to an individual-level variable, spirituality. Additionally, perceptions of ethical behaviors are positively associated with two contextual variables-training in ethics provided by an employer or a professional association, and the existence of a code of ethics.
