ヒメウコギ葉茶の2型糖尿病モデルマウスに対する抗糖尿病作用

The antidiabetic effects of himeukogi leaf tea were investigated on KK-A~y mice, an animal model with type 2 diabetes. Five-week-old KK-A~y mice were administered the control with water or himeukogi leaf tea for 6 weeks (Experiment 1). Himeukogi leaf tea significantly inhibited the increases in fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose after orally loading with glucose. In experiment 2, nine-week-old KK-A~y mice were administered the control with water or himeukogi leaf tea for 4 weeks. Himeukogi leaf tea significantly decreased the fasting blood glucose and postprandial blood glucose levels after orally loading with glucose. The blood glucose level of the himeukogi leaf tea group was significantly decreased in an insulin tolerance test. Moreover, the weight of white adipose tissue was also decreased in the himeukogi leaf tea group. These results indicate that himeukogi leaf tea may have beneficial effects on the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus.%現在，わが国では糖尿病に羅患する人が急増しており，2007年国民健康・栄養調査によると予備群を含めると2210万人に達するといわれている.これは10年前の1997年の調査に比べ約1.6倍であり，増加が加速している．糖尿病の90％以上を占める2型糖尿病は，初期段階として食後高血糖が観察され，慢性的な食後高血糖を経て空腹時血糖値の上昇へ進展すると考えられている．そのため，食後の血糖上昇を抑制し，糖尿病の発症や進展を軽減する食品に関心が高まっている．
