摘要

New models for the selection of conditions to create an effective atmosphere for the storage of horticultural commodities in a package will be introduced in this review. Changes in O_2,, CO_2 and N_2 gases in a package over time are calculated by numerically solving the differential equations expressing the mass balance of the gases in a package using a computer. When the calculation is operated, respiration rate equations and the gas transmission rate equations need to be substituted in the differential equations because the mass balance is affected by the respiration of horticultural commodities and the film permeability.
