Simplexes in tensegrity systems

Tensegrity systems are self-stressed equilibrium pin-jointed cable networks in which a con- tinuous of cables (tensions) are stressed against a discontinuous system of struts; or rather cable networks composed of tensegity simplexes. In this paper, the basic concepts of ten- segrity are introduced. Tensegrity simplexes mainly contain four types: anti-prisms, ant trun- cated pyramids, reinforced anti-prisms and reinforced anti-truncated pyramids. The composi- tion of these simplexes is given.
