摘要

A polyhedron is called 'isodistant' if all its faces have the same distance from the centre of the system. For such forms the new name 'Isohedron' is introduced here. The five regular polyhedra each consist of one kind of face, that all lie at the same distance, but the semi-regular polyhedra have more than one kind of polygon which lie at different distances The present study tries to indicate, what happens if one brings all faces at the same distance, what have these new forms in common and what may be their use in practice. The main difference with the original solids is, that they form a closer approximation of the sphere through its vertices. This aspect has been applied in a new design for the skin of soccer balls.
