Cybersecurity and Interconnection Networks: Smart Grid, Smart Phone, and Smart ID

With the advent of information andcommunication technologies (ICT) and expectation of the 5G system in the not far future, there has been an evolution of the information society to an interconnected cyber-physical-social (CPS) ecosystem.~1 This evolution and integration is an on-going process. On one hand, the Internet of Things (IoT) has expanded into a vast interconnection of entities fromcomputers and servers, to sensors and devices, and then to appliances and cellphones. On the other hand, information technology (IT) and operation technology (OT) are converging through Smart Grids and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and unified under industry control system (ICS).
