E-Government: Are Federated Initiatives Better? A Case Study of Kunshan City in the Peoples Republic of China Research Note

摘要

Past research suggests that the e-government initiative of a country progresses along an information-communication-transaction-transformation continuum (Chen, 2003). Starting with basic government information for citizens and other governments, at the higher stages e-government initiatives are aimed at enabling citizens and businesses to conduct Web-based interaction with the government. At more matured stages it could include features that invite citizens and businesses to participate in framing government policies and regulations and may extend to intra and inter-government co-operation on the Web.
