UCD-process-driven UI Design and Development Toolkit for ITV Interactive Application

With more and more widely used, ITV (Interactive Digital Television) and interactive applications have been rapidly developed. As the interaction of ITV services is mainly controlled by remote controls, the designers and programmers need an interface building toolkit to deal with the unique user interfaces challenges of ITV applications. In this paper, we introduce an interface prototype development toolkit which based on user-centered design process and also propose an UCD (User-centered Design)-process-driven process for the designer. Along with the design process, we summary the related user roles that will apply the toolkit in each design phase. The toolkit make it easy to develop the application interfaces under the UCD process. And it also features the process and simultaneously gives related support to interface rendering according to UCD principle. User Interface designers of ITV applications can flexibility and interactively design, develop, test and analyze user interfaces by applying the toolkit based on UCD process principle.
