Equivalent R, L, C circuit is realized for DRA (dielectric resonator antenna) with mathematical solution. Resonant frequency, reflection coefficient, impedance and quality factor have been evaluated along with fundamental and higher order resonant modes. The relationship between quality factor, impedance and resonance have been established. Solution of DRA has been obtained with MATLAB and HFSS software. DRA experimentations based on prototypes has been completed. Measured and simulated results for reflection coefficient and radiation pattern have been compared and found to be in close proximity. Use of high permittivity substrates in DRA increases the quality factor whereas low permittivity substrates are in contrast. More number of parallel R, L, C networks in cascade increase the quality factor as well as input impedance. Study of DRA impedance, reflection coefficient and radiated fields have been investigated using R, L, C parallel circuits connected in cascaded form. Power flow and radiations have been rigorously analysed with mathematical formulations.
