Realistic effect evaluation of image compositing technique on texture colors of the sofa

This study aims to evaluate effects of texture color of the sofa on the realistic effects of image compositing. Six patterns that accommodated a varied range of texture colors were employed in this study. A virtual display was then shown to the professionals in the furnishing industry as well as to the consumers. Subjective evaluations on the realistic effect upon a short exposure to the images were recorded on a measuring scale. Results showed that texture colors pose significant impact on overall realistic effects, and that no interaction effect exists between the factors. A Scheffe's test was further conducted, and its respective result showed that the realistic effects of image compositing to light colored textures (golden yellow, orange and light green) were significantly greater than to dark colored textures (dark blue, brick red, dark green). Also, assessments between furnishing industry professionals and consumers had no significant difference. The process suggested in this study would effectively minimize the amount of time spent on communication, and also increase degree of satisfaction.
