Adsorption of carbofuran on the four selected lateritic soils is studied using batch experiments. Accordingly, the key influencing factors of carbofuran adsorption are determined. The adsorption Isotherms on the lateritic soils correspond well with the Freundlich isotherm. The adsorbed Amounts of carbofuran in toluene-and-bromoform treated soils (i.e. organic mater has been partly Removed) follow nearly the same pattern as those in the original soils, and the adsorbed amount Increases with the increase in soil pH, organic matter and clay contents.
