A Simple, Inexpensive Solid Fuel Furnace for Small Scale Combustion Toxicity Studies

The physical and chemical complexity of fire atmospheres is very dy- namic and is affected by numerous factors. This complexity has led to the widely accepted notion that there is no such thing as "typical" fire or fire atmospheres. Indeed, "fire" itself can be readily divided into several dif- fering types or models. Despite this complexity there is a need for system- atic evaluation of the health risks associated with exposure to fire environments.
