The mechanical behaviour under quasi-static uniax- ial tensile loading of SiC-MAS.L glass-ceramic composite material is investigated. The accumula- tion of damage in unidirectional specimens is char- acterized by the total number of transverse matrix cracks, N, and the reduction in the longitudinal Young's modulus, E. the micromechanical parame- Ters governing the matrix microcracking mechanism Are calculated.
