摘要

This research work deals with the experimental study on polypropylene fibre and steel fibre composited High Strength Concrete (HSC). Initially, certain trial mixes were tried to reach the M80 grade concrete and it was achieved finally. In this study, 5% weight of cement was partially replaced by microsilica. Polypropylene fibre in the range of 0.16 and 0.32% by volume of concrete and steel fibre in the range of 0.25, 0.50, 0.75 and 1% by volume of concrete were added to the concrete individually and in combination. The combined maximum and minimum content of polypropylene and steel fibres used were 1.32 and 0.41%, respectively. The parameters of investigation included ultrasonic pulse velocity test, compressive strength, split tensile strength, flexural strength and modulus of elasticity. The experimental test result shows excellent performance in the hardened state of concrete with the addition of fibres both individually and in combinations.
