International Law does not seem to have much impact concerning European and national food law on a first glance. However, as the indepth analysis of the author reveals, the impact of international law on national and European food law is much greater as anticipated. The authors analyses the human right to food and provides an impressive overview how this right may have an impact on the distribution of food in the German society. He refers to the food distribution through private German charity organisations (so called „Tafeln") and a possible violation of the right to food by the German state. The author also analyses the impact of the WTO legal regime as well as the Codex Alimentarius-Standards on European and national food law.
