2013 MAR 20 (VerticalNews) -- By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Journal of Engineering --nVishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE: VPG) announced that its Vishay Foil Resistors brand (VFR) hasnreleased a new video that compares the accuracy of precision thin film resistors with the new generationnof VFR COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) resistors based on Z1-Foil technology. Using the example of ancircuit built around Intersil's ISL28617 precision instrumentation amplifier, the short video shows how annincrease in ambient temperature causes a TCR mismatch in the thin film resistors (TCR of 5 ppm/°C),nresulting in an error in the output of the amplifier circuit while having no effect on the Bulk Metal Foilnresistor.
