EVALUATION CRITERIA OF THE RESETTLEMENT PROJECTS CASE STUDY OF NUBIANS' RESETTLEMENT

One of the problems that face several countries recently is the resettlements of displaced communities resulting from massive development projects or Natural Disasters. This problem was the matter for discussion on a large scale over the past five decades as there were some criteria that play a vital role in the successful planning and implementing of the resettlement projects. Nubians, who were resettled as a result of displacement in 1964 due to building the High Dam, are not satisfied with the resettlement projects built by the government. Therefore, it is important to identify the criteria through which the success of resettlement projects can be. Among them this reached. This study reviews the experience of Nubians resettlement projects in Kom Ombo and Wadi Karker. Accordingly, this article presents the findings of factors that contributed to the success and failures of the Nubians resettlement projects during the period of 1964-2013. In the hope that the results of this research contribute to increase the effectiveness of planning and implementing the suggested projects of Nubians' resettlement near "Lake Nasser".
