Digital audio-video (A/V) equipment continues moving steadily to center stage in each regional market. Demand for digital A/V sets has been expanding in Japan. Now Japanese manufacturers are focusing on such products for markets in North America and Europe. In particular, these campaigns play up plasma display panel (PDP) TVs, LCD TVs, and DVD recorders. However, price competition is intensifying. Therefore, the Japanese manufacturers will find it necessary to concentrate on offering value-added digital A/V products.
