Demand for High Performance Rechargeable Batteries To Grow

As more advanced portable electronic equipment and cordless devices appear in the market, demand for batteries has been shifting to higher performance products. While demand for rechargeable batteries has lately been stagnant with the recent slowdown in demand for portable products, the industry expects that in the long run demand for smaller, thinner and higher capacity batteries will increase with the expanding markets for information appliances such as mobile phones, digital cameras, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and handheld computers. The industry also expects set equipment manufacturers and battery manufacturers to work more closely together in tailoring rechargeable batteries for electronic products.
