A boot 2,000 companies participated in COMDEX Fall 2001, one of the largest computer products exhibitions in the world. The show, with the theme "The IT Marketplace," took place in November in Las Vegas, the United States. Featured products included many with wireless infrastructures, including Bluetooth technology for wireless data transmission and the IEEE802-11a and IEEE802-11b standard.Other products attracting attention were notebook computers, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and tablet computers. Some manufacturers featured storage media and high-speed, high-capacity devices for handling data. Companies from Taiwan, Korea and China touted OEM and OEM proposals related to information technology.
