Component makers see significant opportunities in the expanding global market for mobile phones, including high-functional products, such as models with digital camera functions. As component makers focus on serving the mobile phone market, they are working to develop smaller products and to concentrate management resources, including marketing and sales systems, to better serve the global market. New demands for components are emerging as more functions and features are being incorporated in advanced mobile phones. These features include built-in cameras, larger data capacities, color LCDs, dual or triple band-compatibility and Global Positioning System (GPS) functions.
