Sony Incorporates Projector Functions To Make Setup Quick, Easy

In developing projectors for global markets, Sony Corp. offers both consumer and business projectors. Engineers at the company make special efforts to create projectors that deliver high luminance for outstanding image quality; that operate especially quietly, an important characteristic for home projectors; and that have a "beautiful design,"says Kazuo Hatanaka, Product Planner, Product Planning Section, Front Projector Department, Projector Business Division, Projector & Display Systems Co. of Sony Corp.'s Home Network Co. Hatanaka described Sony's product lineup and marketing of industrial projectors. Sony released in March the VPL-CX85 projector, which was developed under a concept the company calls "speedy presentation." The VPL-CX85 incorporates the Intelligent Auto Setup feature, which instantly readies the projector for use at the push of a button, and the Air Shot function, which makes wireless operation simple. Sony released in June 2003 three compact LCD data projectors equipped with the Intelligent Auto Setup function. These are the VPL-CX6, which has a brightness of 2,000 lumens, the VPL-CS6, which offers 1,800 lumens, and the VPL-EX1, with 1,500 lumens.
