Hitachi's Plasma TV Adds Depth, Realism to HD Images

Hitachi, Ltd. aims to expand sales of its plasma TVs mainly as a large-screen display for home theater systems. In pursuit of this goal, the company introduced last March the 42-inch plasma TV 42PD7200 in Europe. The 42PD7200 employs an advanced Alternate Lighting of Surfaces (ALiS) panel with 1,024 x 1,024 pixels and a new digital high-definition image processing technology Picture Master. The plasma TV also complies with the Conditions for High Definition Labeling of Display Device proposed by the European Industry Association for Information Systems, Communication Technologies & Consumer Electronics (EICTA).
