Sanyo Electric Co., Ltd. aims to be the top manufacturer of projectors in terms of geographical area and market segment. The company offers a full array of liquid crystal display (LCD) projectors for four market segments: professional, portable, mobile, and home-use. Sanyo recently launched the new LP-XU61, which is sized to be mobile but provides 3,000 lumens (ANSI) of brightness, a figure higher than those of other models in its class. Although the new product has a footprint about the size of an A4 paper and weighs only 2.8 kg, it uses three 0.8-inch liquid crystal TFT panels and a 200W lamp to achieve such level of brightness.
