Battle Heats up in Large-Screen TV Formats

Format competition has further intensified amid the advancement of large screen TVs. For several years, PDP TV has significantly exceeded the conventional rear projection TV in the category of above 37-inch while LCD TV is rapidly catching up with PDP. The affordability of flat panels due to mass production as well as the rapid pace in image quality improvement within each format are cited as the biggest factors behind this trend.
