Taiwan's Motech Aims to Deliver Lowest-Cost Solar Cells

Motech Industries, Inc. (Motech), one of the world's top ten suppliers of solar cells, has ambitions to become by 2010 one of the top five. The company also hopes to establish itself as the lowest-cost maker of solar cells. Based in Taiwan, the company has three divisions in Taiwan and a subsidiary in China. Motech's solar department accounts for 95 percent of the company's revenues. In Taiwan alone, where the company controls 55 percent of the market, Motech has installed enough solar cells to generate 600KW per year.
