Panasonic Gears Up High-Level Plant for PDP TVs

A head of its time and ahead of schedule, the Amagasaki plant of Matsushita Plasma Display Panel Co., Ltd. (MPDP) is already at full phase-one capacity, turning out 125,000 panels per month. Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (Panasonic) put this state-of-the-art plant into operation Sept. 1, 2005, two months earlier than the original plan, to accommodate the rapidly growing demand worldwide for plasma TVs. The facility is achieving stable yields of 90 percent or better.
