In 2005, Fujifilm Corp. sparked a new trend in the digital camera market by putting greater emphasis on high sensitivity functions. At the same time, the company worked on improving its operational infrastructure by streamlining the production system, rebuilding the supply chain management (SCM) system and building a system to share marketing information. Thanks to these efforts, an organizational structure that better responds to changes in the digital camera market is about to be put in place. Tsutomu Sugisaki, Director, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Electronic Imaging Products Division, described how the company has been faring in the first half and its initiatives for the latter half of the year.
