Seeing itself as the driving force for the whole digital camera market, Canon Inc. offers a product lineup that extends from compact digital cameras to digital single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras. With the market growing more than expected, Canon's business performance in the January-June period grew 16.8 percent from the same period of 2006 to 10.4 million units, of which SLR cameras accounted for 1.3 million units. The company will likely meet the annual sales target of 2.4 million units. Masaya Maeda, Director and Chief Executive of Image Communication Products Operations, described the company's initiatives for the latter half of FY2007.
