China's electronics industry flourished during the first half of the 2007, growing 18.2 percent year-on-year to RMB2.1751 trillion, with sales of the electronic manufacturing sector seen increasing 17.6 percent to RMB1.915 trillion. The Ministry of Information Industry of China also said the software sector grew 23 percent to RMB260 billion.rnSales of broadcast equipment, components and industrial equipment in the industry category recorded year-on-year growth of more than 20 percent while sales of consumer electronics and audio-video equipment declined.rnIn the product category, shipment of mobile phones remain strong in the first half at 29 percent to 262.99 million units, while personal computers also grew 27 percent to 58.96 million units of which, 37.35 million units are notebook computers.
