HDMI Systems Use Deep Color To Generate Lifelike HD Images

Except for the expanded data paths necessary to support Deep Color, there are few changes to the HD display system. Most of the changes consist of relatively simple enhancements to the existing circuitry that add almost no cost to the system electronics. As a result, it takes little to upgrade HD displays and receivers to handle Deep Color Data, especially because many HD display subsystems already can handle colors richer than the HDMI v1.2 specifications. Therefore, with only minor changes, designers can enable their systems to accommodate the Deep Color features of HDMI v1.3.
