New Hitachi Camcorders Record One Hour of Full-HD on BD

Hitachi, Ltd. has introduced two Blu-ray Disc (BD) camcorders that can record one hour of 1920 × 1080 full high-definition (full-HD) video onto a BD (single side, single layer). Hitachi brought out the camcorders in Japan in August and will start introducing the camcorders outside Japan in October. The DZ-BD70 is a single-drive BD camcorder that can record approximately one hour of 1920 × 1080 full-HD video (two hours of 1440 × 1080 HD video) on an 8cm BD.
