Building unique features from digital audio-video (A/V) technology, Panasonic Automotive Systems Co., will introduce new models of car navigation equipment bearing the strada brand, a label that has been successful in the Japanese aftermarket. This year, the enterprise, an inhouse company within Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., is focusing on bolstering its aftermarket business in regions outside Japan. In particular, management is concentrating on establishing solid business foundations in the North American and European car electronics markets. Starting in October, the company will introduce its first portable navigation devices, featuring a simplified navigation system.
