New KURO HD PDP TVs Deliver Deeper Blacks, Higher Contrasts

In June, Pioneer Corp. began shipping its New KURO high-definition plasma display panel (PDP) TVs, which represent the company's strategic models for 2007 in Europe and North America. Pioneer offers the models with 42-, 50- and 60-inch screens.rnEach of the KURO plasma TVs employs an eighth-generation panel structure. They feature all new electric circuits, including the filter and drive sequence. The New Kuro panels can produce truer, deeper, blacker blacks (kuro means "black" in Japanese), and they achieve revolutionary high contrast ratios. The series consists of four models: 42- and 50-inch XGA models with 1,024 × 768 pixels (42-inch) or 1,365 × 768 total pixels (50-inch), and 50-and 60-inch 1080p models with 1,920 × 1,080 total pixels.
