Amid the flourishing information and communications technology (ICT) landscape of the Middle East, GITEX (Gulf Information Technology Exhibition) Technology Week will take place Oct. 19 to 23 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC). The Dubai World Trade Center has organized this five-day event to promote business alliances in the ICT sector, to offer updates on e-government projects in the Middle East, and to offer a venue for those exhibiting new consumer electronics, information technology systems, components and peripherals. Organizers expect the event to draw upwards of 3,300 exhibiting companies and 130,000 visitors from more than 80 countries. There will be dedicated international pavilions for Australia, Egypt, India, Korea, Britain, Singapore, China, and the United States, among others.
