Mitsubishi Electric Corp. has developed the PV-DR003G Eco Guide TV, a screen unit that displays the electricity generated by photovoltaic (PV) systems, the power consumption of home electrical appliances, the amount of electricity bought and sold, and the reduction in the amount of carbon dioxide (CO_2) emissions on TVs at home. The display unit, a first of its kind in the industry, will hit the Japanese market this fall at ￥79,800. Mitsubishi Electric hopes to sell 3,000 units of the device per year.
