Clarion Plots New Internet Course for Car Navigation

Society is entering a new stage in information exchanges, thanks to the spread of information technologies that are simultaneously sophisticated and easy to use. This is turning the vision of always-accessible information into a reality, giving consumers secure, safe and comfortable ways to use information (Fig. 1). Hitachi Limited intends to apply a similar vision to vehicular travel. The company already is carrying out activities that will make safety and security, ecology and efficiency, comfort and convenience a reality on the road as well as off. As a member of the Hitachi group, Clarion Co., Ltd. plays a part in developing in-vehicle information devices. One example is the company's next-generation mobile Internet navigation device.
