Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc. said that it would adopt the P2 HD solid-state memory for broadcasting of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (Panasonic) as part of joint development of a new high-definition (HD) camera system and peripherals. As part of the deal, Hitachi Kokusai Electric has developed a P2 card recorder system that will serve as adapter for its SK-HD1000 full-digital, multiple-standard HD camera with dockable design. This HD camera model features a separate camera system and adapter system. The P2 HD-compliant dockable recorder is compatible with DVCPRO HD and AVD-lntra codec, and is scheduled to be released in the market in 2009.
