Japan Proposes ICT New Deal in Response to Economic Crisis

To keep pace with the rapid and drastic changes resulting from the spread of information and communications technologies, the Japanese government in 2001 established the Strategic Headquarters for the Promotion of an Advanced Information and Telecommunications Network Society (IT Strategic Headquarters).rnAt about the same time, the Japanese government developed the e-Japan Strategy. The goal of this strategy was to transform Japan into the world's most advanced information technology (IT) nation within five years.
