Hitachi Improves Power Output of Lithium Ion Battery

Hitachi Limited and Hitachi Vehicle Energy, Limited have co-developed a lithium ion battery with specific power of 4,500W/kg, one of the highest outputs in the world and is 1.7 times that of the car-use lithium ion battery being produced by Hitachi Vehicle Energy. The company will begin offering samples starting this fall, and plans to mass-produce the said product starting 2013.
