Victor Co. of Japan, Ltd. (JVC) has developed a next-generation super-thin LCD technology that enables reduced thickness and weight of flat-panel displays. This new technology would allow greater flexibility in the design and layout of displays intended for commercial and household visual environments. The JVC technology has enabled a 32-inch flat-panel TV with thickness of only 7mm and weight of about 5kg, one of the thinnest and lightest flat panels in the industry. The technology also makes use of about 50 percent less materials resources, thereby upholding environmental responsibility.
