Fujifilm Paves the Way for Technicolor 3D System in Japan

Fujifilm Corp. has started offering in Japan the Technicolor 3D, a three-dimensional (3D) movie screening system that caters to theaters. By using an existing film projector, theaters can install it at low cost by investing about ￥1 million (US$1180) for a special 3D split lens, and another ￥1 million for purchasing a silver screen. Technicolor Inc. of the United States develops Technicolor 3D system. It divides a frame into the upper part and lower part, on which image for the left eye and image for the right eye are recorded separately.
