Sony Makes Way for DSLR-Like Digital Cameras

Sony Corporation has introduced the NEX-5 and NEX-3 digital cameras with digital single lens reflex (DSLR)-quality imaging, and comes with the convenience of interchangeable lenses in a sleek and compact design. In contrast with conventional DSLR models, the "mirrorless" construction shrinks the thickness of both cameras. Excluding the grip and mount, the NEX-5 model's slimmest point is just 24.2mm, while the NEX-3 model is about 25.4mm. Furthermore, the NEX-5 features a tough yet lightweight magnesium body, making it one of the industry's smallest and lightest interchangeable lens digital cameras.
