Agilent Technologies' has introduced new functionality for its FieldFox series of handheld analyzers. The analyzers can now be remotely controlled via Apple iOS devices (iPad or iPhone) using a wireless LAN or cellular broadband data connection. New remote control and viewer capabilities can be purchased as add-ons by existing device owners. Other new functionalities include a spectrum analysis time-gating function, which can assist in testing of radar systems by allowing users to view frequency and time domains at the same time and measuring narrow pulses (less than 1 μs wide, with sweep times as small as 8 μs.
