Investigtions on the growth of Bi_2TeO_5 and TeO_2 crystals

Czochralski growth of bismuth telluride (Bi_2TeO_5) and paratellurite (TeO_2) single crystals under shallow temperature gradients are reported. The growth difficulties such as the cracking, coloration of crystal and incorporation of he bubbles into the crystal are also studied. Rapid thermal annealing studies revealed hat the coloration in paratellurite is due to the oxygen deficiency and impurity incorporation.
