Investigation of Dielectric properties of Sand at Cryogenic Temperatures

The results of the laboratory investigations of dielectric properties of pure quartz sand are presented in the temperature interval from ＋20 to -180 deg C for various values of the sand humidity. The measurements are carried out at 20 GHz. Specific features in the low-temperature behavior of the complex permittivity are observed, and qualitative explanation for these features is offered.
