摘要

The energy distribution of E~x,y_m-waves over the cross section of a planar metal-dielectric waveguide (MDW) containing a guiding layer (GL) and dielectric intermediate layers (ILs) between metal screens is calculated. The frequency ranges, in which the mode coupling leads to the energy transfer from the GL to the IL and vice versa, re determined. The influence of the IL thickness (the distance to metal screens) on the energy distribution of E~x,y_jm-waves over the cross section of the planar MDW is studied. The thin-layer effect is discovered, which leads to an increase of the energy of E~x,y_m-waves in the GL for a small thickness of the IL close to critical frequencies.
